World Plumbing Day 11 March 2012
World Plumbing Day is dedicated to helping the general public better understand the vital role the plumbing industry plays in protecting public health and safety, the extent to which it helps limit mankind’s environmental footprint and other important work performed by contractors, inspectors, installers, engineers, and manufacturers that is often taken for granted.
As Australians in times of disasters in our own backyard we can appreciate the importance of accessing clean safe drinking water and a high standard of sanitation, the World Plumbing Day committee aim is to contribute to advances in water quality and sanitation for all.
World Plumbing Day is held on 11 March each year. This year the 11 March falls on the weekend, so many jurisdictions are holding World Plumbing Day events on Friday 9 March, in order to include industry stakeholders during regular business hours. In 2011 jurisdictions throughout Australia held numerous activities to promote World Plumbing Day.
