Strategic Planning
In March 2007, the NPRF set its strategic directions to 2010. While there have been rapid developments in proposals for a national licensing system and the consolidation of building and plumbing standards into a National Construction Code, the NPRF remains committed to pursuing its directives, while participating in current consultation processes to ensure the best outcome for the plumbing industry.
Strategic Directions 2007- 2010
- Maintain, develop, and formalise the NPRF as a cooperative arrangement between jurisdictions responsible for the regulation of on-site plumbing and/or occupational licensing.
- Formulate NPRF policy positions to guide standards for:
- technical requirements;
- occupational licensing; and
- education, in the plumbing industry.
- Identify, engage and build:
- partnerships with government and regulators;
- strategic alliances with industry representative bodies; and
- consultation processes with stakeholder and community groups.
- Focus on setting and maintaining consistent, high quality technical, educational, and licensing standards.
- Maintain and enhance a shared understanding of issues associated with licensing, education and technical standards for plumbing to facilitate harmonisation of regulatory frameworks.
